A Glimpse Of Her! (Episode 7)

She made friends with her roommate called Lynne. Lynne was an intelligent lady but an atheist. She did not believe in the existence of God.

“Casey, do you know you can use the time you spend attending church services to learn a skill which can change your life? Praying constantly to a God who already knows what you need and will do what he wants for you and not what you ask for is pretty absurd. Why do you waste time worshiping him?”

“We have layers of problems in Africa and our reasoning and so called relationship and understanding of “God” is one of our biggest problems. We are somewhat religious zealots – unable to reason or do anything for ourselves without the need to call for some heavenly help or endorsement. It is quite unfortunate you are engaging in this ridiculous religiosity and insanity. I pity you my dear”

Lynne told Casey after she came back from one evening church service.

“The time I will spend arguing with you, I will use that time to pray darling. Good night. I love you” Casey responded.

School is on vacation and both Casey and Renetta packed their belongings and headed home. Mrs Nelson traveled to the United States to take care of her sick mother. Mr. Nelson was left with the two girls at home.

Casey heard a knocking on her bedroom door in the middle of the night.

“Who would knock on my door at this hour? Strange!” She said and checked the time. It was 11:20 pm.

She rose, made a long humming sound and walked swiftly to the door. She opens and finds Mr. Nelson standing there in a shorts and shirtless.

“Good evening, Sir. I am very surprised to see you. What brings you here at this time of the night? Please, do you need anything?” Casey inquired.

Mr. Nelson entered the room, shut the door and sat on the bed.

“Please, do you need anything?” Casey asked again.

“It is my house Casey, have you forgotten? Well, I have given you a roof over head. I have fed you and provided everything you need. I have even enrolled you in a university. Don’t you think you should pay me back?” Mr. Nelson responded in a low tone.

“Pay back? Yes Sir! I intend doing that when I get a job please” Casey answered.

“Don’t worry, Casey. You can pay me right now” Mr. Nelson responded in almost a whisper.

He tread softly to where Casey was standing and pushed her on the bed. Mr. Nelson tried to have her way with Casey but she grappled and left the room frightened.

She went to sit at the balcony.

“This man is a fickle! OMG that was a close shave!” Casey murmured with fright.
