Weekly Wisdom
Proverbs 18:16 tells us “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.”
Many would become excited because they translated this to mean that their gift would make them like the “great men” in their presence. I want to challenge this notion to look deeper at the idea of someone being “before” great men.
True enough, the greatness is a reflection of what’s inside of us, but that does not always mean that greatness has been cultivated.
When you are in a room of people smarter or more accomplished than you, don’t fall into the trap of trying to prove you deserve to be in there by verbose speaking. Don’t let your mouth overcompensate for your insecurities.
The best thing you can do when in a room of great people is study what makes them great. Your gift may get you in the room, but your wisdom and strategy are what will keep you in it.
If you are too proud to admit that you don’t know something, then all you’ll ever have is what you currently know.
The philosopher Socrates said, “The only thing that I know is that I know nothing.” Learning is a sign of humility, not weakness.
Having the hunger to search for information that will sharpen your craft fuels your ability to help not only yourself but others.
Let go of the idea that you’ve “arrived” in life. There’s no such thing. Even the Bible reminds us that the work God is doing in our lives is constant.
Blessed Week!

Thanks for such inspiring message😍😘
