Quotes have long been a great source of inspiration for me. That is why I keep a journal dedicated to just quotes. You should give it a try.

In this article, I want to share with you five easy-to-memorize quotes with really profound lessons.

— Albert Einstein.

This quote reminds me of the saying that everything is built twice, first in the mind and then in reality.

The mind is indeed a very powerful place. Every success or failure begins with the mind.

As a result, any change you seek to make must be achieved, first, in your imagination (mind) before you can work it out in reality.

What you cannot behold, you cannot become. If you cannot see it with your mind’s eye, you cannot achieve it in reality. As a man imagines (thinks), so is he.

— Grace Hopper.

This screams, “๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต ๐˜ป๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ!”

Safety and security have long been the bane of noteworthy success for most persons.

They come into seasons of their life when they need to take a bold step, make bold decisions, and audacious moves that might be temporarily discomforting, but they let fear cheat them.

Enslaved to fear and a crippling obsession for control, they miss out on such seasons. And although they were made to do life in the center of the ocean, they abort a fine destiny and settle for the security and certainty the ship port gives.

Do not trade your greatness for security and stability.

The world does not revolve around you!

Quit thinking highly of yourself; it will save you unnecessary heartache. You are not deserving of anything. Whatever you get is a blessing. Be grateful.

As a rule of thumb, only make demands where you have invested. And even at that, hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

When you start to see every relationship, opportunity, etc. as a blessing (not your entitlement), you will develop a better appreciation for every blessing you enjoy.

Your only entitlement is death. Every other thing is a blessing.

Be grateful!

— T.S. Elliot.

T.S. Elliot beautifully sums up with this quote, a crucial problem in our world today — DISTRACTION.

Our autonomy over how to spend our time continues to decline radically. As a result, some of the things we do daily are not things we consciously set out to do.

You decide to check a notification on Facebook and before you realize it, you have wasted two hours of your life doing what you never planned to do.

We are tossed left, right, and center by digital distractions. We are distracted from Facebook by Twitter, from Twitter by Tik-Tok, and the list goes on. It is as though we are being told what to do with our lives. And this is not good because the people stealing your attention don't have your best interest at heart.

You must reclaim your autonomy over how you spend your time from Facebook and Whatsapp. Consciously choose how you wish to spend your time daily. That way you can focus on the things that are most valuable and profitable to you.

— John Maxwell.

What is your definition of a life well spent?

I think often about my mortality, the inevitable reality of my finitude. And I have concluded that the one goal all humans have in common is not success but an inescapable death. Depressing? I don’t think so.

We are both assured of the fact that someday, regardless of the quality of life we lead as individuals, we will all die.

How does that make you feel?

It becomes important that you live daily conscious of that reality and what it means to you.

Define clearly what things matter the most to you and never sacrifice the ultimate for the immediate.
