Recently, something led me to research how birds operate. I noticed one thing about the eagle--one of my favourite birds.

Although the eagle is unique and one of the largest birds of prey, birds of all species will always attempt to heckle and harass it as a natural response to fear.

According to Kevin McCowan- a bird biologist- "Birds are very territorial, particularly during the summer when their hatchlings are vulnerable. Crows and many birds seem to have a Napoleon complex—the mere presence of a larger bird incites heckling and mobbing."

Crows in particular tend to heckle eagles more than most other birds. A crow would sit on the eagle's back and peck at its neck. However, the eagle usually does not respond to or fight it. It conserves its time and energy for its prey and not for the distraction of the crow.

It just opens its wings and begins to fly higher into the sky. The higher the flight, the harder it is for the crow to breathe and so it eventually falls as a result of a lack of oxygen.

What does this tell you?

The higher you go with your uniqueness and visions, the more you face opposition, but It's not everyone who picks a fight with you deserves a response. It's not all arguments and critics you need to respond to. Just take a flight, raise your standard, and watch them all drop-off.

Stop wasting time with the 'crows.'  Take them to a new height and they will fade away. People may sit on your back and bite your neck, but remember, "time and chance happen to them all."

My point exactly?

In your journey to becoming, you must know what battles to engage in. Not every fight must be fought. David knew he had what it took to take Goliath and he had to, so he did.

He also knew he had what it took to take Saul, but he knew he didn't have to, and so he ran.

Have a comprehension of time. Know when to fight, and when to run. It's never a sign of weakness. It's simply conservation of energy for the journey ahead.
