Be The African God Created!

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. He later in verse 27 of Genesis Chapter 1 created man. This man (Adam) with Eve became fruitful as God had instructed.

Some researchers are still battling with the race Adam belonged. That to me remains a mystery. Let me say he was neutral; He belonged to no race. This tells me the world we see today came out of a neutral foundation.

Growing up as an African, I experienced a lot of unpleasant conditions and situations. A lot has been heard and read about how inferior the African is to the world.

The adverse impact on my esteem was grand; Well, I would say I have walked out on them; thanks be to God. Galatians 3:28 (There is neither Jew nor Greek, … :for  ye are all one in Christ Jesus) makes me have no doubt that racial ranking is just unnatural.

It is a system designed to satisfy human interest. We were made Africans. We had no opportunity to make that decision. That is what God decided to make us and definitely there is a reason (purpose to be accomplished).

Let us not forget He created us in his own image. The least we could do is to make that image be trampled upon.

I look around and I mostly see some people abandoning their African Identity. Identity I mean: how we think, what we say, our hopes and what we do as Africa.

It is very common to hear people say “nothing good can come out of this country, at large this continent”, “blacks are this and blacks are that…”.

Well, what they proclaim may be true as you may see but that has no direct bearing with what the future holds. One story that captivates my mind is that of the Israelites (God’s chosen) going into captivity at Egypt (Exodus 1).

The part of the chapter that made me wonder was ; “And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage …” -  Exodus 1:14. “This is extremely unacceptable especially with the children of God”- my thought upon reading (I guess same thought came to your mind..).

However that was what they had to endure for centuries just because a man (Pharaoh) feared the presence of the Israelites. With all their strength, they endured. The good news was, they finally came out of captivity with great substance; please note that it was after centuries.

This story (that of the Israelites) gives me much confidence about Africa. It makes me appreciate how great of a people we have been created and how great of a place we have.

We equally have great minds and hearts even though we may be peculiar (diversely joint). Certainly or hopefully this said captivity (neo-colonialism as some people may say) would phase out. Until then we need to strive to be the African God created.

Being that African is about loving, believing and deliberately taking pride in yourself. It is about loving and promoting that African neighbor in their positive strides. It is about being that honest or widely, that ethical citizen who is proud of his/her culture.

It is about steadily developing yourself to be used for the good of the continent. It is not about complaining and being bitter all the time, at the minimum we must be grateful to God for making us AFRIKANS. It is about putting our individual pieces together to form that desired artefact.

Moses regardless became the Israelite God created for His use. I mean he led the rescue from captivity.

Let us become the African God created for His use. Africa is capable!
